Speaking of Dinosaurs...

...my darling husband turned 41 today (fortunately, he is a young 41).  His only birthday request was to be able to spend some time alone with me so we went on a date last night.  We had a delicious dinner at Ruby River, stopped at Ensign Memorial Gardens to reminisce the day he proposed, and then had dessert at The Dodo.  It was quiet, peaceful, and romantic - also a fitting description for Shem himself.  I love you, babe! (And I will only love you more when we really are as old as dinosaurs!)

To finish off our dinosaur week my trusty Summer Fun companion Val and I drove the kids up to the Ogden Eccles Dinosaur Park.  It was my first time there and my review is that is it totally worth the drive (especially when you use the City Deals coupon to get in cheap!).

The kids loved the museum, the wide array of dinosaur models on the grounds, and the expansive dinosaur themed playground.  After seeing the animatronic dinos at the zoo these looked a little stiff, but the variety and detail was amazing!

We walked along the blacktop paths and ventured onto the dirt trails to find even more dinosaurs hidden in the trees.

With another fun dinosaur dig and plenty of photo opps, lunch was the only thing tempting enough to get the kids to sit still.

The lure of afternoon naps and a quick summer rainstorm brought our trip to a close.  Then it just got better after that when Val offered to take Kate and Adam home to her house so I could rest with the little boys.  A fun day, happy kids, and a really great friend.  What more could a girl want? (Oh, just to get away for dinner that night with two of my girl friends from high school. Night out, friends, Olive Garden. What a great day!)
