Thanks!

Thanks for the record amount of comments. I really appreciated all the love. I'm pulling out of my little funk and trying to find more positive around me. (But that is just so hard with all the crap that happens here every day....sorry.) Summer frightens me because I have all my kids under my constant care. (Yeah I know, I did willingly sign up for this mom thing.)

So, in an effort to improve summer we are doing some "Summer Fun." This includes a weekly theme with books, songs, crafts, science experiments, and field trips. Our theme for the summer is "Where the Wild Things Are."

We kicked things off on Sunday evening with my Mom doing her dramatic rendition of the The Melon Patch Killin', a short story by author Fred Gipson. Afterwards we ate watermelon cookies. (Why didn't I have my camera!!!! Someone please e-mail me some pics!)

This week our theme is "Getting Wild" and we read Where the Wild Things Are, drew monsters, made monster claws out of Bugles, and went wild at the park today. Here are pics of my crazy monsters.

Kate's monster name is Shityna.

(Shi-ti-nah, she came up with that all on her own.)

Adam's monster name is Wild Bloody.

Mason doesn't need a monster name because he is already a monster. (Today he made a big wet puddle in the bathroom by dumping water onto the counter and floor....twice.)

Colin's monster name is Cries in the Night.

We have more plans for "monster toast" and more wild rumpus' at the park. Maybe on Saturday with the help of another grown-up we'll make monster slime. Wish me luck!

I wanna do that! Tell me your schedule. I'd love to be the "other grown-up" once in a while (if you want me!)

I need to plan things better like that with themes...it probably makes things more fun for the kids. I'm going to copy your idea : ).

At least it was water Mason dropped. It could have been worse considering it was in the bathroom.

I am terrible about arranging things for the kids. Good for you. I don't think my kids would sit through 5 minutes of story time!
