I have been potty training Mason for one week. I couldn't be more pleased with the results. On my last update things were looking good, but the next day I got what I shall call "The Trail."
We were all downstairs watching a movie in the afternoon when Mason disappeared. After I few minutes I went looking for him. He met me at the top of the stairs in his half-naked glory and pointing to the small, brown ball on the landing said, "Poop!" Then turning to point out the wet spot on the door mat and my waterproof shoes (thank goodness!), "Peep!"
I proceeded into the kitchen where occasional droplets and puddles let me know the direction he had headed in all his efforts. He had made it to the bathroom, eventually, where he pooped on the bath mat. I was about to ask him why he pooped on the floor when I looked into the toilet bowl. Poop there, too! Success!
We celebrated! He collected a car and a big piece of gum (the bubble tape kind - his favorite) and headed back down to watch Transformers. I took a deep breath, put Colin down for a nap, and proceeded to wipe up and sterilize.
Mason has been accident free for two days. Happy Trails to you, until we meet again!
