You know that feeling at the end of a long day when you take off your control top nylons? You know, that release? I can't get there. No matter how many times I sweep there is still cereal on the floor. I spent two hours folding and putting away laundry only to move one more batch from the dryer - leaving another basket of clothes needing to be folded.
I feel like I'm rushing from one urgent item (finally putting away the cereal box from breakfast at 3:30 in the afternoon so no one else knocks it over) to another (going outside to help a whining Mason who's shoe fell off) to another (feeding the crying baby) to another (getting the tax filings finished that have to be postmarked today).
I can't seem to get on top of things. I stay up too late trying to make up for it (I always get a second wind around 10:00 p.m.). Maybe I should stop blogging, you say. But then I would be busy and lonely.

Way to be, Tobi! You are amazing and even though it doesn't seem like you are doing it all . . . you are. I am standing back applauding you all the way!! Whatever you do, don't stop the blogging! It is not only therapeutic for you but for all of us, too!! Love you always with awe!
It is very much the nature of our work as mothers to do many things that undo themselves very quickly. It's hard to have a lot of satisfaction at all of your hard work when within moments the diapers, the clothes, the dishes, the floor-everything is dirty again. I just do my best to keep our home a happy place and call that success!
I get a second wind at 10 also. I read for two hours and then try to sleep and always have a hard time feeling awake in the morning. I'm working on that.
I know how you feel about there always being a next thing. I'm not obsessed with cleanliness, but we want a decent home, right!? IT's hard for me not to get discouraged on Monday morning when we are so busy doing school and we just cleaned the house on Saturday but it needs a thorough cleaning again.
It'll come. You are doing amazing and your kids are watching and learning from the wonderful example you are!
