Three is a Magic Number

Last week we celebrated Mason's 3rd Birthday! We decided to invite over a few friends and "have a ball!" I got two of these ball pits on clearance (only $8!) at Big Lots last fall and I've just been waiting for the right occasion to pull them out. Celebrating Mason was a great reason!

Mason's favorite parts of the day were eating his "pupcakes" (that's how he says it) and opening presents. He held onto the firetruck from his friend Ally the whole day and kept getting out of bed that night to play with the car transporter from Mom and Dad.

Mason is our cutie. His blond hair and blue eyes are Shem's dream for a son.

He refers to himself as "Masey-Moo." He gives the best hugs and loves to "diss" (kiss) you on the face, leg, or head...anywhere that is convenient for his height.

He LOVES milk and consumes sippy cup after sippy cup throughout the day.

He is very orderly and insists on shutting gates and cupboard doors that are unnecessarily open. The other day at the doctors office he was bothered that the nurse left the main door open behind her (it holds itself open for a while then closes automatically) so he tugged and tugged on it until it would close.

He is a climber and loves to push a chair up to the counter so he can help himself to the treasures in the cupboard. Lately it has been the stash of gumballs left from his party.

Mason is aggressive and territorial. We are struggling with hitting and he likes to assert his dominance over Colin by pushing him over.

He loves to watch cartoons - especially Transformers ("more an meet dee eye" he says), Thomas the Tank Engine, and Lightning McQueen. He is crazy about cars and is usually carrying around a few.

He is stubborn and wants to do things his way, on his time. He falls apart if you try to complete a task he has in mind (i.e. closing the gate on the stairs, opening the fridge).

He loves bare feet and will take off his sock and shoes the moment he gets home...or in the grocery cart...or the car...or the kids club at the gym. Being as he can't put them back on by himself this trait has not been particularly appreciated!

He likes to pray. It requires a little assistance, but he doesn't hesitate on the parts he knows - "Bless Mommy, an Daddy, an Katie-lady, an Adamie, an Masey-Moo, an Bolin. In a name-a-Jesus-ki AMEN!"

Mason has been such a special part of our family.
Happy Birthday, Masey-Moo!

Sad we missed it. Did you match his shirt to the balls on purpose? Super great pictures!

Nice pictures of Mason through the years. He's a super cute boy! We got a ball pit years ago and eventually I got so tired of picking up the balls in the house we only used them outside, until the dog ate half of them. Oh well! They are a lot of fun.
