Adam has been counting down to his 5th Birthday for months. The day finally arrived along with the good weather we were praying for and 13 four and five-year-old friends. The "Bouncing Birthday Bash" got to a wild start on this awesome blow up toy (Thank you, thank you, thank you Dave and Tammy! And a big thanks to Elizabeth for letting us use your back yard!).

With only minor injuries to hinder our play, the kids had a blast running, jumping, and sliding. Adam was only deterred by his desire to go back across the street and open his presents!

Said presents included a new collection of Bakugan's, a Batman motorcycle, Spiderman games, balls, books, Transformers, a monster truck...at about this point I lost track because it is too hard to hold a baby and try to manage a dozen kids who are fighting their way to be next to the birthday boy. (Thanks Mom for being there to help manage the crew!)

My favorite gift was the one from me (of course). Since a few weeks before Christmas Adam has been asking for a "motorcycle set-up." I found a bike that looks like a dirt bike and Grandma Mona and Grandpa Dave bought the racing helmet to finish the look. (He had to do without the leather gear he wanted.) Too cool!

After cupcakes and ice cream we headed back for another go at it. I was relieved when we took the final slide and sent the last friend home. Whew.

I'm so grateful that Adam has had 5 happy, healthy years. At his 5-year check-up with the pediatrician he summed Adam up perfectly when after spending a whole minute with him he asked, "He does a lot of imaginary play, right?"

Adam is my Batman, Spiderman, pirate, Power Ranger, prince, army guy. He builds helicopters and jets out of cardboard, paper, and tape. (We also got him tape for his birthday.) Almost everything he touches turns into a gun or a sword.

He is my biggest helper and my best laundry folder. He's a new reader. He adores his baby brother and he is tender and sensitive. He loves to play Hide-and-Seek-in-the-Dark. He can't wait to be an "army guy" when he grows up and have an "army gun and army motorcycle." He tries to remember to be like Jesus (or sometimes he says he just wants to be good like his cousin Joel).

We are so blessed to have him in our family and hope for many, many more years to come.

Wow, you take a lot of pics of your kids. I always forget because I'm micro-managing everything: Don't spill that!!!

What a great summary of a sweet, adventurous life. I hope to capture more precious times with my little ones- with and without the camera.

Your kids are so adorable. I keep looking at the page over and over. You are an awesome mom! It is obvious from the look on your kids faces that they are loved and well taken care of.
You inspire me. Thanks
