I need some help naming this baby! All the girl names I keep hearing sound so great, but there aren't a lot of boy names getting me excited.
I don't want to pick a name based on what my newborn looks like. I'm one of those people that need to have a named picked out long before baby makes its grand entrance (otherwise Kate would have been named Alien Child and Adam would have been Zombie Boy - they look a little weird when they first come out).
I want something between traditional and only slightly unique (people should know at least two other people in the world with the same name) and with the sheer size of our families many names are already taken...or should be reserved for their own male offspring. (We already took Adam from Uncle Adam, but I think he is done with three girls.)
So...please post a comment with some ideas. There is, however, a warning. If you are an immediate family member please do not post a name you are dying to use for your own son. If I fall hard for it I guarantee I'll be having a boy before you will (unless your name is Cyndi or Kristin).

Hey Tobi! Good to hear from you. It's funny you need help with a boy name, because those are so much easier for me than the girl names...which i still need help with. But anywho, one of my favs is Camden. Good luck with the naming game.agnitu
I like Landon. If you use that, all you boys will end with the -un, -um sound!!! Esther
I love the name Cole and Tanner. If this one is a boy, I'm hoping for Tanner. I just need to get Eric on board.
Lincoln!! Oh thats been taken....how about Percible...Gillie thinks thats VERY manly. I probably am no help here...sorry. This was Jared...like you couldn't tell...
I see Jared got to you first. I kind of agree with you to a point on having names picked out- if we went with what Garrison looked like on the day he was born, he would have been Shar-pei puppy (you know, the wrinkly kind), but since I didn't get the nine months you have to prepare, we did have to wait to see him before we named him, because the name we had picked out for our someday son just didn't seem to fit. That being said, here are some of my favorites that we probably won't use
Ethan (my brother's name)
Owen
Harrison
Jordan (my sister's name)
Ezra
I tend to like unique names (but not made up ones). Good luck with the naming business. Just try not to ruin his life :o)! The fear of that adds so much stress for me. Here's some more we won't use-
Noah (Know a Lot)
Park (Park N Lot)
Jacinda (Just Sinned A Lot)
Olivia (I love you a Lot)
Maybe you could use Chess or Cardinal or Ward.
Too funny! Thanks for all the ideas so far. Keep them coming!
hey tobi...just found your blog through Leigh's!
so...here are my suggestions:
Thomas/Tommy

Simon
Gavin
Jeremy
Lucas
Wesley
Isaac
Alex
Ian
Gregory
Geoffrey
Ok, that's all I can think of at the moment...sorry, I don't go for "unique" names - I am a traditionalist!
