Hosting Thanksgiving

This year was a Bishop Family Thanksgiving Year (we alternate between our families each year). When the whole family gets together we have to meet in a church house. With over 50 grandkids, we are quite the bunch.

This year was a smaller gathering and we offered to host, since we have this awesome big(ger) house now. We put plastic down on the carpet, borrowed tables and chairs from the Stake Center, and made our banquet table. I tried to go all fancy with the decorations on my dollar store budget. My mother-in-law, Nancy likes to decorate for meals with pretty things and I wanted nothing more than for her to be pleased.
After I got the birds cooking I took off for a little morning run (to get some extra calorie burn for pie consumption). About 45 minutes later I was standing in from of the Oquirh Mountain Temple with the realization that I was going to have to run another three and a half miles to get back.
All 30 diners arrived (including my sister Cyndi and her family) and I served my first (two) Thanksgiving turkey(s) and they were beautiful and none too delish!
