School starts in 3 weeks and I'm making a final push to have awesome Summer Fun. The last few weeks have been good.
Pioneer Week included feeble fireworks on the 25th of July. We were too tired to do fireworks on the 24th so we thought we would do them the next day. However, we forgot to buy the fireworks, so come Saturday night the only thing we could find in a five mile radius were $1 packs of spinning eyes, fountains, and party poppers in a bin at Walmart. The kids still loved it.

All God's Creatures week took us to the Museum of Natural History where the kids met a bull frog...
A local farm where Kate petted a goat...
And home where we made gingerbread dog bones and lapped up milk. (This one attracted almost every kid in the neighborhood. Luckily I made lots of bones.)
After Kate and a friend covered themselves in shaving cream to be "cloud people" we had our own clouds to eat (marshmallows).
Yesterday we made a sugar cookie Solar System (without Pluto, the new "dwarf planet")...
...then went to the Planetarium to look at the Solar System display and talk about which planets we ate. Mason really enjoyed Mars.
And while we were at the Planetarium I said something I didn't think I would ever say...
"Adam! Stop running on the moon!"

Your so cute Tobi! I love your ideas!
Next year I need to be included in your planning. I would love to do this with the kiddos.
You are such a great mom! I don't feel like I have done one thing fun with my kids this summer that has helped them learn. Looks like you are having so much fun! You really are making memories they will always remember.
You are so creative. I would never think of these things- let alone take the time to decorate individual cookies to resemble the planets.
Too cute. You really out-do yourself. When the kids go back to school, you should get a massage.
What great ideas you have for teaching and having fun with your kids! Do you make it all up? I'm glad that I found your blog through Ali's. Your kids sure are cute!
Talk about super mom! Holy Cow Tobi! You are making me look really bad. Seriously, I bet your kids are having so much fun.
